Dr. Shirley Reid is an experienced and dedicated dentist committed to her patients, practice, community, and dental health education. She appreciates and takes great pride in making a difference in a person’s life by improving his or her smile. She feels her greatest reward is improving someone’s smile and dental health and knowing the individual can smile, communicate, and eat with comfort and confidence for a lifetime. Dr. Reid considers it an honor to be your dentist.
Dr. Reid was born in Texas and is a proud graduate of R.L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth. She graduated in 1974 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and is a staunch Razorback fan and supporter. Dr. Reid earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston in 1978; however, her loyalty to the Razorbacks over the Longhorns has remained strong since her first year at the University of Arkansas.
Dr. Reid maintains continuing education hours above state requirements and for preserving her status as a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. She is committed to being on the cutting edge of the latest dental treatments, resources, and technology. She dedicates herself to learning the newest developments in her field with continuing education courses at local, divisional, and national conferences and conventions.
In 2003, Dr. Reid completed the requirements to become a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. She has served as the membership chair of the Arkansas Academy of General Dentistry, and has attended the National AGD meetings in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Nashville. She has attended the L.D. Pankey Institute, as well as the ADA national meetings in Portland, Seattle, New Orleans, and San Francisco. Dr. Reid supports her staff in attending continuing education opportunities to ensure the entire office is current in best dental practices. Dr. Reid also attends, often with staff, the annual meeting in Dallas of the Southwest Dental Conference.

Dr. Reid is also the proud grandmother of two adorable grandsons, Carew and Thomas. She has two cats, Orange and Marmalade.
When she is not working at the office, Dr. Reid enjoys traveling to visit her three grown daughters, sharing time with her retired parents, hosta gardening, golfing, camping, and water skiing at Lake Ouachita.
Committed to the community, Dr. Reid is a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, the Hillcrest Residents Association, and the Hillcrest Merchants Association. She participates in the annual HarvestFest in Hillcrest, often with a dental health education booth and goodie bags of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. Additionally, Dr. Reid has participated in the rewarding experience of the Arkansas Mission of Mercy, treating people unable to afford dental treatment. In the past, she has helped organize the “Women in Dentistry” team for the Komen Race for the Cure. The entire office staff enjoys participating in the race to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
